Bellator 66 preview (Really, this is just a warm-up)

OK, so I have two MMA previews, four comic reviews and a second research paper that need to be done, and unfortunately this is all surrounding a family tragedy. As such, I hope you will forgive the brevity of this Bellator preview:

Lightweight Bout: Eddie Alvarez v. Shinya Aoki

A rematch of the WAMMA Lightweight title bout that I'm sure people at the time thought would mean something. Turns out it really didn't.

Alvarez is coming off a loss of his Bellator title while Aoki, still the DREAM champion, needs legitimacy in the U.S. Since getting owned by Gilbert Melendez, and then losing to a kickboxer via submission in a mixed-rules fight, the man who was once called the second best lightweight on Earth has lost some of his luster.

As such, Alvarez would love nothing more than to make him stand up and take a knockout. But expect Aoki to be able to get the fight to the ground at times and keep this competitive

That said, I will take Alvarez by 2nd-round KO because I do think he will wear Aoki down, and he won't have the Japanese crowd willing his opponent on like last time.

Rest of the card

Middleweight Semifinals

Brian Rogers v. Andreas Spang - Rogers by decision

Maiquel Falcao v.  Vyacheslav Vasilevsky - Falcao by submission (Rd. 1)

Lightweight Semifinals

Brent Weedman v. Thiago Michel - Weedman by decision

Rick Hawn v. Lloyd Woodward - Hawn by KO (Rd. 3)

Sorry again about the brevity, but I promise the UFC one will be far better.
